How to Organize a Bridal Shower

First of all, let’s define what a Bridal Shower is. A Bridal Shower is nothing more than an elegant way to celebrate the bride and make her feel special.

It is usually an event in which the guests get dressed up, a very nice table with food is set up, which could be a mid-morning brunch, a snack, a tea party, a dinner … Really, the most important detail is that the celebration is refined and that the bride be the center of attention. And many gifts, of course!

I recently held a Bridal Shower Brunch for one of my best friends, and the truth is that it was a lot of fun to be with the girls. I have nothing against the boys, however, I love it when I get together with my friends and we catch up.

Here are some ideas that can serve as inspiration for your Bridal Shower.

A Pretty Table Setting

I think that an elegant celebration deserves a beautiful table. A carefully chosen color palette, in which we must take into account the tablecloth, napkins, dishes, glassware and signs or placecards, if we are going to use them. I like to use the tablecloth as the starting point for my full color palette, it makes it all come together. Of course, you can do it however you like! 🙂

I like using the same color palette for all party decorations. I think that if the decoration and colors are consistent, it looks carefully planned and denotes elegance.

A beautiful centerpiece and a personalized sign to place with it, will make the guest of honor feel even more special. You can place some menu cards on each plate, placecards with the name of your guests, use beautiful napkin rings, candles, paper flowers or paper pompoms … All the elements that you add, will give depth and detail to your decoration. If you need stationery for the table, you can see our selection of products here.

Decoration

Decoration is essential in any event. It adds the atmosphere to the party. For an event with these characteristics, we want to use elements that provide sophistication and elegance such as flowers, fabrics, balloons, posters or signs, centerpieces, labels, tags, placecards, bunting, etc …

I am in favor of using flowers, and the more, the better. I love them! It’s like in a wedding: without flowers it wouldn’t be the same. Flowers bring a touch of delicacy and romanticism to any celebration with their color and aroma. They can be real flowers, or you can also use artificial or paper flowers that are very trendy right now. Here is a DIY step-by-step tutorial on how to make paper roses, if you’re feeling crafty!

Balloons are also a very practical decorative resource for any event: they are very decorative, they are relatively cheap and we can find them in a large variety of colors. This allows us to adjust them to our style or theme for the party, and to our color palette. We can distribute them in balloon bouquets, inflated with helium, throughout our event area. Or, we can make decorations in the form of a column, arch, centerpieces, backgrounds, etc.

Ok, so we have already talked about the decoration for the table, which is perhaps the most important. However you can decorate so many more things: from the entrance door, the room where the event is going to be held, the bathrooms, the seating area, the side tables, the chairs, the floor, the ceiling … Use your imagination and work with whatever you have.

Good Food

In all the celebrations we need to have something for the guests to eat, but in a Bridal Shower we want to pay special attention to the food. Depending on the type of celebration we are going to organize, we will choose one type of food or another. I like individual servings wherever possible, as they make it easier for guests to serve themselves.

Activities

In any party it’s a good idea to have some sort of activity to entertain the guests. There is a great variety of games that you can find for this type of event. In this other post I share 6 fun activities for a Bridal Shower celebration. They are games related to the bride and groom, and activities that you can do all together. In addition, several games also serve as a gift to give to the bride!

Gifts

When a person is honored at an event, it is always nice to have a gift for her. Traditionally in a Bridal Shower, it is customary for each guest to bring a gift for the future bride. However, in our case, what we did was to get together to get a larger gift. In addition, it is very beautiful, as part of the decoration, to place all the gifts on a table, beautifully wrapped with their own tag or label.

I hope you have a lovely event, and don’t forget to post your photos tagging @myberryown on social media!
